There is Ki (yellow) Karatsu and many, many other types of Karatsu ware with many, many other characteristics, so I suggest you
walk around, look around, and take them into your hands.
Start by holding one you particularly like, then finding out what type it is.
A tea bowl kiln. Formerly used by the Karatsu clan to fire tea bowls bestowed upon nobility.
Pottery studio of the legendary Tarouemon Nakazato Karatsu ware lineage. In the gallery are displayed pieces by 12th generation Nakazato Taroemon (Muau Nakazato), designated a National Living Treasure in 1976.
Karatsu station is just over an hour by train from Hakata station and Fukuoka airport.
There are a multitude of maps for touring pottery studios.
