Ceramic Ware collection. 〜Seto-Nogime Tenmoku Tea Bowl

Nogime Tenmoku (Seto Tenmoku) Tea Bowl (Middle Muromachi Period)
The Tenmoku tea bowls were made in Jianyao in the province of Fujian in China, were brought back to Japan by a Buddhist priest, and become highly valued in Japan at the time. Attempts made in Seto to mimic the bowl came to be called “Seto Tenmoku” tea bowls.
The photo at the top. I tried to capture it as an “everyday” kind of bowl.
It looks old,
and new.
What was your impression?

A myriad of brown streaks on black glaze. It is called Nogime Tenmoku due to its resemblance to the tips of young rice plants (nogi). Muromachi period to Momoyama period).
